Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

is a non invasive meridian therapy. A liberating and cathartic talking and tapping technique that enables you to let go of unwanted emotions, stress build up and over-reactions to certain triggers. A fantastic self help tool to use when situations present and you need to feel better quickly.  I teach this to clients so they have a self help tool that can be used almost anywhere to get quick relief when emotions become invasive or overwhelming.  EFT is used in the NHS and can be taught to parents to use with their children, children can pick it up quite easily. I use this on myself and on virtually every client that I treat, rarely have I ever found that it has not been an immense help. It can also be used content free so if there are things that are too painful to express or tell me, then we can easily get around this.

I use both EFT and TFT on myself to keep my stress levels down and for any occasion when life feels overwhelming or just too busy.

It is my belief that when something stressful happens, the danger is that we don’t take time out to deal with it. If stress goes unchecked we are allowing it to build up and then the next stressful event happens, now we have a building block. If you have ever watched a young child making a tower with brightly coloured building cubes, when it gets too big and the construction is too heavy it falls down. EFT can stop that from happening, it allows you to deal with it and move on without the accumulation of anxiety. It won’t stop the stresses coming but boy will it build resilience and be the go to tool when you need it.

Thought Field Therapy (TFT)

is a non invasive meridian therapy. A fast and none invasive technique that involves tapping using algorithms on various points on the face and body, the therapist taps on the client preserving their personal space at all times. Set algorithms can be provided for quick effective relief as a self help tool. It is similar to EFT but the client is not required to speak and it can also be used completely content free so I do not even need to know what the problem is, we just identify how it is you are feeling about the issue.

In all therapeutic work and with all issues it is not necessary to know what the cause is and removing or reducing the emotion and moving on is often enough. Clients do find the issue has been resolved without ever knowing where the problem came from in the first place. Focusing on the positive outcome is the key to effective therapy because we can’t change the past but we can change the way we respond and feel about it. We CAN create a positive and realistic future.
